Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) recently rolled out the first single-channel LogiCORE(TM) FlexRay(TM) controller IP, optimized for the Xilinx(R) Automotive (XA) Spartan(TM)-3 generation devices. FlexRay, a time-triggered and deterministic communication protocol from the FlexRay Consortium is quickly gaining traction in the industry as an automotive networking standard, capable of up to 10Mbps (megabits per second) baud rates.

The IP Core seamlessly works with the middleware stack and drivers developed by Vector, an industry leader in automotive development tools and software components. Xilinx has also recently completed work with Vector to develop and release low-level drivers for its CAN LogiCORE IP for the automotive market. The LogiCORE FlexRay controller IP takes full advantage of the configurability and scalability of Xilinx programmable logic technology.

The LogiCORE FlexRay controller IP is available now from Xilinx for $22,000.
