Vector Adopts Altera Cyclone III FPGAs

Posted by Ken Cheung in FPGA-based Product on Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Vector selected Altera Cyclone® III FPGAs for the Vector Informatik Network Interface product line. Vector selected Altera FPGAs because of their low power consumption, package flexibility, and Altera's automotive-certified intellectual property.

Vector Informatik Network Interface products enable automotive network designers to interconnect their PCs with CAN, LIN, FlexRay, or MOST bus systems. They are used in the development, analysis and optimization of electronic networks.

Vector is using the Cyclone III FPGAs to implement network interfaces and the proprietary protocols to communicate with the host system that runs their software diagnostic tools. Vector's Network Interface product line includes a wide variety of USB-, PCI-, PXI-, PCI Express- (PCIe-), and PCMCIA-based interface solutions for many automotive network protocols, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay and MOST.
