CommAgility introduced the AMC-V7-2C6678 Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) module. The AMC-V7-2C6678 features the latest Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA and two Texas Instruments TMS320C6678 multicore DSPs. It includes Serial RapidIO (SRIO), Gigabit Ethernet and PCI Express. The AMC-V7-2C6678 DSP/FPGA Card is available now. It is ideal for high performance DSP/FPGA processing applications like telecoms and image processing.
Avnet Electronics Marketing announced the MicroZed evaluation kit. MicroZed is based on the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC. The standard MicroZed evaluation kit includes a MicroZed board, a micro USB cable, a 4 GB µSD card, a Xilinx Vivado Design Suite: WebPACK Edition license with Logic Analyzer, and a getting started card. MicroZed is available now for $199.
Xilinx’s 7 Series GTH transceiver has successfully completed testing for 10GBASE-KR LogiCORE IP core. The test was conducted at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory. The test validated that the IP fully meets UNH-IOL’s receiver (Rx) and transmitter (Tx) electrical and protocol compliance tests for backplane applications. The 10GBASE-KR LogiCORE IP is currently available in the Vivado Design Suite.
Xilinx has taped out the semiconductor industry’s first 20nm device, and the PLD industry’s first 20nm All Programmable device. In addition, Xilinx has also implemented the industry’s first ASIC-class programmable architecture called UltraScale. According to Xilinx, the company is about a year ahead in delivering 1.5–2X more realizeable system-level performance and integration.
Alpha Data introduced their ADM-XRC-7Z1 XMC Mezzanine card. The ADM-XRC-7Z1 features the Xilinx Zynq System-on-Chip (SoC). The ADM-XRC-7Z1 ships with a Software Development Kit (SDK), which includes example designs and software drivers. The board is available in industrial grade and air or conduction cooled variants. The ADM-XRC-7Z1 XMC Mezzanine card suitable for initial development through to deployment in rugged environments.

EnSilica introduced the eSi-ZM1 System-on-Module. The small form factor board is built around the Xilinx Zynq Extensible Programming Platform. The eSi-ZM1 enables faster, lower risk development of smarter embedded systems that demand real-time hardware performance. EnSilica’s eSi-Module product roadmap also includes a System-on-Module based on the Altera Cyclone IV SoC.
Avnet Electronics Marketing rolled out the production-grade ZedBoard. According to the company, it is the industry’s first development kit to offer production silicon of the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable (AP) SoC. The ZedBoard kit includes the ZedBoard, power supply, USB cable, and pre-configured SD card containing a bootable Linux reference design. The ZedBoard is available now for $395.
Xilinx’s All Programmable 7 series FPGAs and Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoCs have achieved full PCI Express compliance and are now listed on the PCI-SIG integrator’s list. With 7 series FPGA and Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC integrated blocks for PCI Express Gen2 and Gen3, designers can meet high system bandwidth and programmable systems integration requirements needed in a variety of markets, including communications, storage and server applications.
