Altera introduced a direct memory access (DMA) reference design. The solution is constructed for Stratix V customers needing to seamlessly and quickly design PCIe Gen3 solutions. Stratix V GX FPGAs feature a hardened protocol stack for PCIe Gen3 applications, demanding the highest in bandwidth, system integration and flexibility, at a reduced cost with lower total power consumption. The new DMA reference design makes it fast and easy to develop high-performance PCIe Gen3x8 hardware.
Reflex CES (Custom Embedded Systems) introduced the Aurora-like IP core. It is based on Altera FPGA devices. The Reflex CES IP core enables interoperability between Xilinx Virtex-6 LXT and Altera Stratix IV and Stratix V GX FPGAs. The Reflex CES Aurora-like 8B/10B IP Core is available now with VHDL source code, test-benches, a reference design and user guide. Reflex CES plans to ship an Aurora-like IP Core that supports communication between FPGAs with a 64B/66B protocol at 10 Gbps.
Terasic recently introduced the TR5-Lite, DE5-NET, and TR5-F40W FPGA boards. The TR5-Lite features a small form-factor; the DE5-NET maximizes memory, speed, and bandwidth; and the TR5-F40W offers flexibility and feature expansion. The high-end Altera FPGA boards are ideal for high frequency trading, data acquisition, network and signal processing.
PLDA introduced their XpressGX5LP FPGA design kit. It is the first FPGA-based low-profile PCI Express form factor card featuring 40Gb of Ethernet connectivity and 8 GBytes of DDR3 SDRAM. It is delivered with PLDA’s PCIe 3.0 IP and full hardware 10G TCP stack IP, specifically optimized for the Altera Stratix V FPGA. The PLDA XpressGX5LP is shipping now and will available for volume orders in Q3 2012.
Altera introduced the Stratix V GX FPGA Signal Integrity Development Kit for 28nm FPGA devices. The Altera kit features a Stratix V GX FPGA-based development board, one-year license of Quartus II Software, design examples, access to Altera’s MegaCore IP library, and advanced equalization functions for the device’s high-speed serial transceivers. The Stratix V GX FPGA Signal Integrity Development Kit is available now. It is priced at $4,995.
