National Instruments introduced LabVIEW FPGA IP Builder, which is an add-on to their LabVIEW FPGA Module. The NI LabVIEW FPGA IP Builder helps designers generate high-performance field-programmable gate array IP by combining high-level synthesis (HLS) technology with the LabVIEW graphical development and NI FPGA-based hardware. LabVIEW FPGA IP Builder is priced from $4,999 (€5,199; ¥675,000).
Xilinx will take part in NIWeek 2011, which is hosted by National Instruments. Xilinx will demonstrate and discuss FPGA and embedded processing innovation in technical sessions, theater presentations and demonstrations. NIWeek 2011 will take place August 2-4 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Xilinx’s participation include the opening keynote, awards ceremony, and demonstration of the company’s Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform.
National Instruments announced six new adapter modules for their NI FlexRIO family. The modules feature FPGA-based reconfigurable I/O for general-purpose automated test and high-speed digital communication. The new FlexRIO adapter modules include four general-purpose digitizers, a module for high-speed digital I/O and a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices (ADI) that is optimized for modulated communications.
National Instruments recently released NI LabWindows/CVI 2010 ANSI C test and measurement software platform. The latest version increases developer productivity and simplifies field-programmable gate array (FPGA) communication. With LabWindows/CVI 2010, engineers can develop host applications to communicate with FPGA technologies using the FPGA-Interface C API,which is a new integrated tool for generating C source files that can be used to interact with compiled LabVIEW FPGA VIs. LabWindows/CVI 2010 is priced from $1,249 USD (euro 1,299; 175,000 yen).
During National Instruments NIWeek 2010, Xilinx will offer demonstrations and technical sessions based on the LabVIEW FPGA Module. The sessions will focus on aerospace, industrial, medical and wireless applications. Xilinx will also show how their rad-hard Virtex-5QV FPGA is ideal for space applications. NIWeek 2010 will take place August 3-5 at the Austin, Texas Convention Center. The event focuses on graphical system design.
National Instruments introduced the NI 1483 Camera Link adapter module. The NI 1483 is a Camera Link adapter module for NI FlexRIO field-programmable gate array (FPGA) modules. It supports 80-bit, 10-tap base-, medium-, and full-configuration image acquisition from Camera Link 1.2 standard cameras. It also features four digital I/O channels, two optically isolated inputs, and one quadrature encoder input for advanced triggering functionality. The NI 1483 vision module is priced from $999 (euro 929; 125,000 yen).
National Instruments introduced four new extended operating temperature versions of the NI Single-Board RIO devices. The boards combine an onboard reconfigurable field-programmable gate array (FPGA), real-time processor, and analog and digital I/O on a single-board computer (SBC). They provide engineers and developers with low-cost embedded system development options. The four new NI sbRIO-9602XT, sbRIO-9612XT, sbRIO-9632XT, and sbRIO-9642XT devices are designed for board-level OEM applications requiring extended temperature operation, including industrial, robotics, transportation, aerospace, and military embedded systems.
