Lattice Semiconductor PAC-Designer Mixed Signal Design Software v6.2

Lattice Semiconductor rolled out version 6.2 of their PAC-Designer mixed signal design software. PAC-Designer 6.2 features updated support for Lattice’s Platform Manager, Power Manager II and ispClock devices, reduced LogiBuilder code size, simplified design flow and better access to external Platform Manager pin-to-pin connections. PAC-Designer v6.2 can be downloaded now for free. PAC-Designer 6.2 software does not require a separate license file.

Lattice Semiconductor introduced version 6.1 of their PAC-Designer mixed signal design software. PAC-Designer v6.1 features updated support for Lattice’s Platform Manager, Power Manager II and ispClock devices. The tool is also now integrated with Diamond 1.3 design software tools to increase digital design options for Platform Manager products. PAC-Designer 6.1 is available now for free download. Once downloaded and installed, PAC-Designer 6.1 software requires no license.

SynaptiCAD Upgrades WaveFormer Lite

SynaptiCAD rolled out an upgraded version of WaveFormer Lite. WaveFormer Lite is an entry level tool that can generate VHDL and Verilog stimulus-based test benches for the Actel Libero design software and other FPGA/ASIC vendor flows without requiring any special runtime engines. WaveFormer Lite fits seamlessly into Actel’s design environment, automatically extracting signal information from your HDL design files, and producing HDL test bench code that can be used with any standard VHDL or Verilog simulator.

Analog Devices Mixed Signal Digital Pre-Distortion Development Board

Analog Devices (ADI) and Xilinx announced the MS-DPD (mixed-signal, digital pre-distortion) development platform. MS-DPD helps multi-carrier cellular base station manufacturers reduce engineering resources and improve time to market. Xilinx’s Virtex-6 FPGA ML605 (field-programmable gate array) Evaluation Kit connects to the MS-DPD board through an industry-standard VITA-57 FMC connector. Using this system, the FPGA can be used to implement required radio algorithms leveraging the ADI signal chain available on the MS-DPD. The ADI MS-DPD development boards are available now for $3,995 each.

Actel Mixed Signal Power Manager Solution for SmartFusion FPGA

Actel introduced their Mixed Signal Power Manager (MPM) Solution for the SmartFusion intelligent mixed signal FPGAs. The power management solution includes a complete reference design with graphical configurator to enter power sequencing and trimming requirements. The design is targeted to the MPM Daughter Card, which can be used with either the SmartFusion Evaluation Kit or SmartFusion Development Kit. The Mixed Signal Power Manager enables the integration of power rail management into embedded designs.

Actel Core1553 Development Kit

Actel introduced the Core1553 Development Kit, which is essentially a self-contained benchtop 1553 bus development system. The kit enables the development and testing of MIL-STD-1553B development using Actel’s Core1553BRM IP core. The Core1553 Development Kit (part number CORE1553-DEV-KIT) is available now for US $3620. The Core1553BRM core is licensed separately and is not included in the kit. The Core1553 Development Kit is ideal for military and aerospace engineers.
