Xilinx introduced their fourth generation secure architecture with Information Assurance and Anti-Tamper IP core support for defense-grade 7 series FPGA devices and Zynq-7000 All Programmable system-on-chips. In addition to the secure capabilities, the defense-grade 7 series FPGAs and Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoCs offer mask set control, ruggedized packaging with fully-leaded (Pb) content for harsh environmental operation, full extended temperature range testing, long term availability and anti-counterfeiting features.

Xilinx Defense-Grade Virtex-6Q FPGA Includes Anti-Tamper Protection

The Xilinx Virtex-6Q Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) family is a high performance defense-grade, programmable solution for major defense applications. The combination of Virtex-6Q FPGA with the Xilinx Security Monitor (SECMON) IP core provides a secure platform for Aerospace and Defense (A&D) designs used in critical AT applications. The SECMON IP core offers a level of Anti-Tamper (AT) protection that will further strengthen the secure capabilities of the Virtex-6Q family of FPGAs.

Xilinx Spartan-6Q and Virtex-6Q Defense Grade FPGA Families

Xilinx introduced the Spartan-6Q and Virtex-6Q FPGA families. The new field programmable gate arrays are qualified for the rigorous requirements of the aerospace and defense market. Xilinx’s defense grade FPGA devices are 100% pin compatible to the commercial equivalent for seamless migration between prototyping and low rate initial production. They are fully tested and qualified to operate in extreme temperatures. The Virtex-6Q device’s ruggedized plastic packaging using standard lead content eliminates tin-whiskering concerns and protects against caustic processes.
