Innovative Integration introduced the new SBC-K7 embedded PC board. The SBC-K7 combines an Atom or i7 PC running Windows/Linux/VxWorks with a Xilinx Kintex 7 FPGA (from K325T to K410T) and industry-compliant FMC (FPGA mezzanine card) I/O sites. It features a Type-6 COM Express module which provides full PC software and hardware compatibility. The SBC-K7 embedded PC board is ideal for embedded instrumentation.
Maxim Integrated Products introduced a reference design that will protect Xilinx Spartan-6 field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The reference design features security software (from Maxim or Xilinx) and the Maxim DS28E01-100 1-Wire secure memory device. Engineers can easily add a level of design security to products with the Maxim DS28E01-100 1-Wire secure memory device. In the future, the reference design will support Artix-7, Kintex-7, Virtex-7 and the Zynq-7000 FPGA devices.
MathWorks introduced xPC Target 5.0. The real-time rapid control prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop simulation tool now includes support for FPGA devices. With xPC Target, computationally intensive algorithms can now run on FPGA boards. Control systems engineers can now program FPGA boards for xPC Target Turnkey systems using code generated by Simulink HDL Coder. xPC Target is available now with prices starting at $4,000.
The Power 2 You book features 150 pages of technical details and design considerations for implementing common circuit board power management functions. The book helps designers reduce board design cost and complexity. Power 2 You provides in-depth discussions of the technical details and design challenges for all common power management functions, and examines programmable design solutions that can be modified using software. The book was written by Srirama (“Shyam”) Chandra. the publication is free and is available in eBook form or as a hard copy.
Lattice Semiconductor introduced the new MachXO Control Development Kit and 12 new reference designs for prototyping system control functions such as temperature and current monitoring, power supply sequencing, fan control and fault logging, that are commonly found in telecom infrastructure, server, industrial and medical applications. The MachXO kit enables the development of system control designs for designers of CPLDs and low-density FPGAs. Promotional pricing for the MachXO Control Development Kit is $119.
