Innovative Integration introduced the new SBC-K7 embedded PC board. The SBC-K7 combines an Atom or i7 PC running Windows/Linux/VxWorks with a Xilinx Kintex 7 FPGA (from K325T to K410T) and industry-compliant FMC (FPGA mezzanine card) I/O sites. It features a Type-6 COM Express module which provides full PC software and hardware compatibility. The SBC-K7 embedded PC board is ideal for embedded instrumentation.

Maxim 1-Wire Security Reference Design Protects Spartan-6 FPGA-Based Designs

Maxim Integrated Products introduced a reference design that will protect Xilinx Spartan-6 field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The reference design features security software (from Maxim or Xilinx) and the Maxim DS28E01-100 1-Wire secure memory device. Engineers can easily add a level of design security to products with the Maxim DS28E01-100 1-Wire secure memory device. In the future, the reference design will support Artix-7, Kintex-7, Virtex-7 and the Zynq-7000 FPGA devices.

MathWorks xPC Target 5.0 Support FPGA

MathWorks introduced xPC Target 5.0. The real-time rapid control prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop simulation tool now includes support for FPGA devices. With xPC Target, computationally intensive algorithms can now run on FPGA boards. Control systems engineers can now program FPGA boards for xPC Target Turnkey systems using code generated by Simulink HDL Coder. xPC Target is available now with prices starting at $4,000.
