TEK Microsystems introduced the Gemini-V6 FPGA-based processing solution. The Gemini-V6 features two front end FPGA devices. One front end attaches to the ADCs and other front end attaches to the 4 GHz DAC. The front end FPGAs can be configured with Xilinx LX240, SX315, or SX475 devices. The TEK Gemini-V6 is a member of the QuiXilica family, and is based on the National Semiconductor ADC12D1800RF device. The Gemini-V6 will be available in January 2012.
TEK Microsystems introduced their QuiXilica Calypso-V6 digitizer. The Calypso-V6 features four separate ADC devices, with each pair of devices assigned to its own front end FPGA for signal processing. The front end FPGAs can be configured with LX240, SX315, or SX475 devices. The new QuiXilica digitizer offers the highest FPGA processing density available in any 6U form factor. It is also the only VME / VXS platform that supports Virtex-6 FPGA devices. The TEK Calypso-V6 will be available in January 2011.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the ICS-1572A ADC/DAC (Analog-Digital Converter/Digital-Analog Converter) transceiver XMC module. The GE ICS-1572A features the Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA, two 16-bit ADCs sampling synchronously at frequencies up to 250 MHz and two 16-bit DACs at up to 500 MHz. The FPGA offers signal processing capability that can be loaded with standard functions such as wideband DDC, FFT and time stamping, or programmed by the user for any required function. The module is ideal for radar, test and measurement, signals intelligence, and communications applications.
National Instruments announced six new adapter modules for their NI FlexRIO family. The modules feature FPGA-based reconfigurable I/O for general-purpose automated test and high-speed digital communication. The new FlexRIO adapter modules include four general-purpose digitizers, a module for high-speed digital I/O and a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices (ADI) that is optimized for modulated communications.
Earlier in the week, Xilinx introduced three development kits to help digital signal processing developers adopt FPGA devices in their designs. The new DSP development kits include a high-performance Virtex-6 FPGA DSP kit with integrated ADC/DAC capability, an enhanced low-cost Spartan-6 FPGA DSP Kit and a Spartan-6 FPGA Co-Processing DSP kit. All three kits have integrated AMBA 4 AXI 4 interconnect and IP support. Xilinx Targeted Design Platforms for DSP can easily scale for adding new capabilities, standards, features and support.
The ADC511 FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC), from Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, is a 400MS/s 14-bit, dual channel ADC card. The ADC511 FPGA module features two Texas Instruments ADS5474 analog to digital converters. Each device supports a sampling rate up to 400MSPS with 14-bit resolution. The ADC card is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled rugged versions. The ADC511 is ideal for DSP applications such as Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Counter Measures (ECM), and Radar.
TEK Microsystems introduced the Calypso-V5, the latest member of the QuiXilica VXS product family. The Calypso-V5 VXS is a 6U VME and ANSI/VITA 41 (VXS) compliant high-speed digitizer board that combines high density FPGA processing with the latest 12-bit ADC technology. In interleaved mode, the Calypso-V5 supports two channels at sample rates up to 3.2 GSPS. In non-interleaved mode, the Calypso-V5 supports six channels at sample rates up to 1.6 GSPS with over 2 GHz full power bandwidth, supporting 1st and 2nd Nyquist operation. The QuiXilica Calypso-V5 VXS will be available in for early access customers starting in October 2010.
The Opal Kelly XEM3010-1500P FPGA module is a as a key component of Texas Instruments’ new ADS1675 Reference Design evaluation platform. The Opal Kelly XEM module enables both LVDS and CMOS serial interfaces and provides on-board SDRAM and high-speed USB interface for the TI Reference Design. The XEM3010-1500P is an integration module based on a 1,500,000-gate Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA. In addition to a high gate-count FPGA, the XEM3010 utilizes the high transfer rate of USB 2.0 for configuration downloads, enabling speedy FPGA configuration and data transfer.
