Xilinx introduced their fourth generation secure architecture with Information Assurance and Anti-Tamper IP core support for defense-grade 7 series FPGA devices and Zynq-7000 All Programmable system-on-chips. In addition to the secure capabilities, the defense-grade 7 series FPGAs and Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoCs offer mask set control, ruggedized packaging with fully-leaded (Pb) content for harsh environmental operation, full extended temperature range testing, long term availability and anti-counterfeiting features.
Avnet Electronics Marketing introduced the Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA DSP Development Kit with High-Speed Analog. The new kit supports Xilinx’s 7 series Targeted Design Platforms. The Avnet includes the Xilinx Kintex-7 KC705 base board with Kintex-7 FPGA, 4DSP FMC 150 High-Speed ADC/DAC FMC, 12V power supply, Xilinx ISE Design Suite: System Edition, and Targeted Reference Designs (RTL and MathWorks model-based design tool flows). The Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA DSP Development Kit is available for $3,995.
Xilinx introduced three targeted design platforms: Virtex-7 FPGA VC707 Evaluation Kit, the Kintex-7 FPGA KC705 Evaluation Kit, and the Kintex-7 FPGA DSP Kit. The comprehensive development kits are designed for accelerating systems development and integration with Xilinx’s 28nm 7 series Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The new targeted design platforms include boards, ISE Design Suite tools, IP cores, reference designs and FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) support. The three new kits are the first among nearly 40 to be delivered by Xilinx and ecosystem members.
At DesignCon 2012, Xilinx will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of 3D IC standards. Xilinx will also present papers on Stacked Silicon interposer technology and the design benefits of using the Zynq-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP). In addition, Xilinx will also demonstrate the latest Xilinx FPGA platforms featuring advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) performance, low power, FMC migration, high-speed connectivity, and Xilinx’s Agile Mixed Signal (AMS) Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). DesignCon 2012 will take place January 30 – February 2, 2012 in Santa Clara, California.
Xilinx introduced ISE Design Suite ISE v13. The latest version features accelerated verification, AMBA4 AXI4 (Advanced Extensible Interface) bus functional simulation models, plug-and-play IP with IP-XACT support and a new team design methodology that reduces design time. The enhancements improve productivity across SoC design teams and progression towards true plug-and-play IP that targets Spartan-6, Virtex-6 and 7 series FPGAs. ISE Design Suite 13 is available now for all ISE Editions. Prices start at $2,995 for the Logic Edition. A free 30-day evaluation version is also available for download.
Xilinx launched the 7 Series of FPGA devices — Virtex-7, Kintex-7, and Artix-7 families. Xilinx 7 series FPGAs reduce total power consumption by 50% and feature up to 2 million logic cells. The Xilinx 7 series FPGAs are implemented on 28-nanometer (nm) process technology. The new FPGA families enable developers to implement programmable solutions in a range of systems that had previously only been achievable in ASSPs or ASICs, including portable ultrasound equipment consuming less than 2 watts and automobile infotainment systems driven by 12 volts, as well as low-cost LTE baseband and femtocell base stations. Initial devices will be available in Q1 of CY2011.
