x8 PCI Express 2.0 Solution for Virtex-5 FXT FPGA

Posted by Ken Cheung in IP Core on Monday, November 10, 2008

Northwest Logic introduced a high-performance, hardware-proven x8 PCI Express® 2.0 Solution for Xilinx’s Virtex®-5 FXT FPGA platform. The solution combines Northwest Logic’s full-featured x8 PCI Express 2.0 cores and software to provide a complete, pre-packaged x8 PCI Express 2.0 solution. The solution enables high-performance x8 PCI Express 2.0 designs to be quickly developed for Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs.

Northwest Logic’s x8 PCI Express 2.0 Core and DMA Back-End Core support high-performance, on-demand, multi-DMA engine operation with 3,000 Mbytes/s Card-to-System and 2,600 Mbytes/s System-to-Card throughput on a Intel DX58SO platform. Northwest Logic’s companion DMA Driver (Window or Linux) manages the DMA engine and associated descriptors. For a complete system design, Northwest Logic optionally provides its high-performance DDR3/DDR2/DDR SDRAM Controller Cores.

Northwest Logic’s PCI Express 2.0 Solution is fully PCI-SIG certified and hardware validated using HiTech Global’s HTG-V5-PCIE board.
