Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) was awarded the Elektra Embedded System Product of the Year for their Nios® II C-to-Hardware Acceleration Compiler (Nios II C2H Compiler). The Nios II C2H Compiler features improved performance and reduced power consumption for embedded systems. It increases the performance of embedded software by automatically converting performance-critical C language subroutines into hardware blocks and integrating them into FPGA-based Nios II processor subsystems. The Nios II C2H Compiler also decreases the overall power consumption of FPGAs in embedded designs. The winners of each Elektra category are chosen by a panel of experts drawn from the industry and a representative of Electronics Weekly.
