Precision Synthesis, Simulink HDL Coder Work Flow

Posted by Ken Cheung in Tool on Wednesday, March 26, 2008

The MathWorks and Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ:MENT) have collaborated on an integrated flow for Simulink HDL Coder and Precision Synthesis. With the new flow, designers can transfer VHDL and Verilog generated by Simulink HDL Coder into the Precision Synthesis tool directly to generate an optimized netlist implementation for field programmable gate array (FPGA) designs.

Simulink HDL Coder generates bit-true, cycle-accurate, synthesizable Verilog, and VHDL code from Simulink models, Embedded MATLAB code, and Stateflow charts.

The Precision Synthesis tool is a comprehensive vendor-independent solution for FPGA design that offers true push button multi-vendor physical synthesis. Precision Synthesis is available at a starting price of $20,200 (USD).
