Lattice Semiconductor’s MachXO2 family of programmable logic devices (PLD) is available in a new 32 QFN (Quad Flatpack No-leads) package. Engineering samples of the MachXO2-256 in the 32 QFN package are available now. Production-qualified versions will be available in the third quarter of this year. MachXO2 PLDs with 256 LUTs are priced at $0.55 in volumes of 250K units. The programmable devices are supported in Lattice Diamond design software version 1.4.2.
The 32 QFN package will extend use of the MachXO2 PLDs to applications where size constraints, ease of layout and manufacturability are critical. The small 5mm x 5mm form factor package option is ideal for applications in space-constrained, low power applications, including consumer, communications, computing, industrial and medical.
The Lattice MachXO2 PLD family’s unique system integration benefits makes it suitable in a broad range of low density applications that require general purpose I/O expansion, interface bridging and power-up management functions. Built-in system functions include hardened implementations of widely used I2C and SPI interfaces and a timer/counter in the Embedded Function Block (EFB), providing up to 429 Look Up Tables (LUT) of pre-designed, pre-verified functionality.
