Webinar: Breakthrough Many-Core Processing Using the Altera Cyclone FPGA to Accelerate Your Embedded System

Newark element14 and Impulse Accelerated Technologies are hosting an online seminar this week. The hands-on session will discuss programming in C code on a FPGA using the Altera Cyclone development platform. Attendees will learn how to leverage distributed processing for a C code algorithm across the entire embedded system — from the FPGA to the embedded processor. The title of the webinar is Breakthrough Many-Core Processing: Using the Altera Cyclone FPGA to Accelerate Your Embedded System. The free webcast will take place on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 12 noon CST.

The one-hour webinar will be divided into two parts. The first part will provide a C to FPGA overview and demonstrate the differences between writing for a FPGA vs. writing for a microprocessor. The second part of the webcast will focus on a live demo within the tool set. Engineers will learn how to quickly prototype an image processing algorithm where you need to leverage extremely high throughput using the FPGA fabric to augment an embedded controller. There will be a live Q&A at the end of the online session.

The webinar will be presented by David Pellerin, president of Impulse Accelerated Technologies, a software-to-FPGA solutions provider for embedded and high performance computing. Attendees will eligible to win one of five copies of David Pellerin’s textbook, Practical FPGA Programming in C.
