CHIPit V5 ASIC Prototyping System

Posted by Ken Cheung in FPGA-based Product, Tool on Monday, May 14, 2007

Pro Design launched their CHIPit V5 high-speed ASIC prototyping systems. CHIPit V5 is based on the largest FPGA on the market, the Xilinx Virtex-5 LX330. It offers the high flexibility, better performance, and larger capacity, all in the most effective ASIC Prototyping system ever.

The CHIPit Copper Edition V5 is aimed at customers who need flexibility in a cost-effective high-speed verification solution. Like all CHIPit products, the new release shortens the time to market dramatically by eliminating costly respins and providing early prototypes for software development or end customers.

The system is very flexible, scalable and is available with 1 to 6 Xilinx Virtex-5 LX330 FPGAs. Depending on the configuration, the system handles ASIC design capacities up to 8 M ASIC gates. It is equipped with up to 8 extension board sections with up to 2580 free user I/Os to adapt to additional standard CHIPit or user specific extension boards. The board also offers up to 4 SO-DIMM card slots and optional on-board SSRAM memories. The system can run stand-alone and is easily configured by software with an SD card or the Ethernet interface.

CHIPit Copper Edition V5 will be available by the end of this month.
