SynaptiCAD Upgrades WaveFormer Lite

Posted by Ken Cheung in Tool on Tuesday, August 10, 2010

SynaptiCAD rolled out an upgraded version of WaveFormer Lite. WaveFormer Lite is an entry level tool that can generate VHDL and Verilog stimulus-based test benches for the Actel Libero design software and other FPGA/ASIC vendor flows without requiring any special runtime engines. WaveFormer Lite fits seamlessly into Actel’s design environment, automatically extracting signal information from your HDL design files, and producing HDL test bench code that can be used with any standard VHDL or Verilog simulator.

The latest version of WaveFormer Lite includes support for displaying analog waveforms, automatically generating analog and digital waveforms from editable waveform block equations, a syntax-coloring editor for VHDL and Verilog, and a new hierarchical project window that enables navigation throuch a developer’s design.

WaveFormer Lite can now be purchased directly from SynaptiCAD (the tool was previously only available as part of the Actel Libero package). WaveFormer Lite licenses can be upgraded to WaveFormer Pro, which includes waveforms generated from Boolean and Registered logic equations, min-max timing analysis, and support for more input and export formats including Tektronix and Agilent test equipment.
